Our mat Pilates-based class designed to elevate heart rate while sculpting the entire body.

Perfect for: Sculpting, endurance, full body burn

Where it started

A hundred years of Pilates.

Joseph Pilates believed real strength starts at your center. He called his method Contrology and taught it to boxers, dancers and anyone willing to work. A century after he opened his New York studio, his ideas are still at the heart of every Pilates class.

Then, and now

  1. 1883

Joseph Pilates is born in Mönchengladbach, Germany.

  2. 1914

Held in a camp in England during the First World War, he gets the men around him moving. The story goes that he rigged springs to the beds, the first idea of the reformer.

  3. 1926

He and his wife, Clara, open a studio in New York. Dancers soon fill it.

  4. 1945

He publishes Return to Life Through Contrology, with the 34 mat exercises still taught today.

  5. 2027

Salt Society opens in Monroe, with heated mat and reformer classes.

Design rendering

The reformer, today.

Those springs on a bed became the reformer, the machine you’ll train on in our second room. Every move is slow and controlled against spring tension, with high reps that keep your muscles working until they shake, all without pounding your joints.

High intensity Low impact Full body burn

“Physical fitness is the first requisite of happiness.”

FAQ

Questions, answered.

Something else on your mind? Email us at info@saltandcorepilates.com.

What is reformer Pilates?

A full body workout on the reformer, a machine with a sliding carriage, springs and straps. The moves are slow and controlled, so your muscles work the whole time with very little impact on your joints.

What is heated mat Pilates?

Mat Pilates in a warm room. Our heated classes use infrared heat, which warms your muscles so you can move deeper into every exercise.

Do I need Pilates experience?

Not at all. There is a beginner reformer class to start with, and Silver Sculpt offers a gentler, targeted pace.

When do you open?

In the first quarter of 2027. Join the waitlist and you will hear the exact date before anyone else.

Where is the studio?

In Monroe, New Jersey. We will share the full address closer to opening.

What is a founding member?

One of the very first members of Salt Society. Founding memberships are limited, and the waitlist gets first access to the presale and the founder’s rate.

How will I book classes?

Online. The schedule opens before the doors do, and the waitlist hears first.
